The Chakra Sisters’ Biography
We are “The Chakra Sisters” and sisters we are. Both of us are retired teachers and artists. Patti was a middle school art teacher in Connecticut for 38 years and Sue was a 4th and 5th grade teacher in Florida for 30 years. For the past 25 years we have been creating original beaded art together and individually. The large majority of our jewelry pieces use one or more of the seven chakra colors. Each color is associated with a different part of the body, mind and spirit. Our chakra inspiration developed from three experiences in our family. First, our brother Stephen studied and traveled in India with Guru Maya for four years. Then Patti was treated with color therapy in order to stay strong and positive during her breast cancer treatments and finally Sue used the positive energy of color to help her through some digestive issues. These combined experiences and successes demonstrated to us that the chakra colors could be used in our designs to remind those who wear them to live more consciously and to focus their attention on the energy centers in their bodies. It is our hope that our jewelry will bring positive energy into the lives of those who wear it.
