Designer, creator, coordinator – Mako (Masako) studied design with her mother (Tomoko) at the base of Mt Fuji where they designed, manufactured and sold Kimonos. Her mom who attended a famous design school in Japan was later offered the equivalent of the Cristian Dior design position but turned it down to help the family import business. She later took Mako to Europe and Italy to experience design and meet certain famous designers as well. As a result many of Mako’s designs can be seen in the Okinawan museum, trunk shows at the Mitzukoshi-Isitan (Saks Fifth Ave Neiman Marcus of Japan) Takashimaya, and Tokyu department stores. Some of her designs can be seen across from such famous designers as Bvlgari, Hermes and our world’s first organic watch across from Rolex in some of these Japanese department stores.
