Henry Cesneros utilizes mundane garage items such as spark plugs, motorcycle bike chain, nuts and bolts, which have been previously discarded to make recognizable art - handcrafed found art
While studying Art History at the University of Texas, I became intrigued with the concept of found art. I utilize mundane garage items such as spark plugs, motorcycle bike chain, nuts, bolts, nails and screws, which have been previously discarded to product common identifiable objects.
Some may regard recycled art or found art to be junk. I prefer to give life to them, adding movable parts and whimsical features. Designs are weighted so they free stand.
KoriAnn Designs
I make 3D Pop Up Cards. I started scrap booking over 35 years ago and added pop up elements to my kid's scrapbooks. I now have over 600 different pop up cards. Each comes with their own envelope and are packaged in a clear sleeve for protection.
I design each card on the computer in ICAD. I then take the file to a high end architectural firm, where I laser cut all the different colors. The final step is to assemble the cards.
People ask how long it takes to make just one card and it is hard to say, since the design part may take me a while to figure out, the pop up element needs to fit within the size of the card and some of the cards require multiple colors of paper, all of which needs to be cut and then assembled.
Enjoy my cards for a special occasion like a Birthday, Wedding or Holiday. Hopefully, it is something that you will cherish! |
