Biography My family has been making sculptures since 1984. 3 generations, each with a special touch. My husband and I, (the second generation), have been working together since 2011, showing our art from Michigan, down the east coast, and all over Florida. My husband has been creating these sculptures since 1991, and he taught me everything I know about the process, my art degree helped to me to learn the process and add my own flare to our art. Our sculptures are NOT made in Plastic MOLDS, they are sand castings and created one at a time. · Each Sculpture is a picture drawn in the sand in relief (*Relief is a sculptural technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to a solid background of the same material. To create a sculpture in relief is to give the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background plane. This technique was used as long ago by Egyptian’s. There are two types they used, we use sunk relief where the figures are below the surface.) We are creating an impression by digging into the sand. The picture is then covered by pouring a lite weight cement into the impression – freezing the sand in it’s place. · Once the sculpture is set we remove it from the sand, breaking the mold for that picture, making each sculpture a one of a kind. · Each sculpture is hand painted with acrylic paints and sealed for indoor/outdoor wall hanging.
